An AP story posted October 25th carried this headline:
Jessica Heeringa case: 6 months later, Michigan police still hopeful in search for missing clerk

SCI has repeatedly suggested that a large network of Private Investigators, most with significant law enforcement backgrounds could be very helpful in solving this case. Those suggestions to the Norton Shores Police Department and Michigan media have not even received a courteous 'get lost' (or even a discourteous one!) A six month case runs a very great risk of becoming forgotten unless those who take an interest in the case continue to push for its resolution. We, at SCI, pray for the family of Jessica and we are trusting that she will be found alive and well. Our offer remains open to the authorities in Michigan to at least allow us to try to bring together a network of investigators to re-consider the case with fresh eyes and perhaps pick up on a detail that may be helpful to the authorities so that they can close the case. It is only an issue of finding Jessica safe and returning her to her very young daughter.
